Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Incasite Located 2,430 metres above sea level. It is located in the Cusco Region, in Peru. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Sacret Valley. 
It is highly significant as a relatively intanct cultural site and it was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide Internet poll.

Lascaux Caves

Lascaux is the setting of a complex of caves in southwestern France famous for its Paleolithic cave paintings. They contain some of the best-known Upper Paleolithic art. These paintings are estimated to be 17,300 years old. They primarily consist of images of large animals, most of which are known from fossil evidence to have lived in the area at the time. In 1979, Lascaux was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list along with other prehistoric sites.

Did you know that El Greco loved puzzles? For example, in many paintings we can find figures with a hand with the ring finger and the middle finger together. The Third Grade kids found some of this paintings. Can you see a hand like this in them?

Third Grade kids observed one of the most famous paintings by El Greco (El caballero de la mano en el pecho) and these were their contributions.

El Greco ("The Greek", 1541-1614) was a painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. He is regarded as a precursor of both Expressionism and Cubism. His work, along with those of Goya, Picasso, Dalí and Velázquez, are consider the perfect example of Spanish painting.
